Throughout the year they have visual art exhibitions, poetry and literary events, traditional music events and small festivals. They host world class contemporary art exhibitions, they have an award winning museum, they work with local and international artists, academics and writers. We also have a strong and growing specialism in film. They partner with both the University of the Highlands and Islands (hosting fine art courses to degree level) and with Sabhal Mor Ostaig offering a number of courses including Gaelic. They are a unique organisation in an incredible location. They provide a hub for the arts, heritage and economic development of North Uist, and the Centre’s work reflects the Gaelic community, language and culture that makes the ‘place’.
