Drought and salination will hit agriculural production until early 2016 in Vietnam's central region, the Central Highlands coffee belt and the mekong tours Delta food basket, given the El Nino weather pattern's impact, the Quan Doi Nhan Dan (People's Army) newspaper cited a government statement as saying.
The government has asked related provincial authorities to tightly control water usage in their area as well as to effectively restructure crop planting, the report said.
