Introduction
Shanghai Optics specializes in creating and producing state-of- the-art lenses to be used by people, the biological and medical sciences, defense, and military fields. Their customers and offices are worldwide. Their main locations come in the US (Newjersey, Colorado) and in China (Nanjing.
What They Do
They pride themselves on helpful design and process control that allows them to create sturdy lenses that fulfill consumer features. They can also quickly scale up their designs to produce lenses at high-volume to suit customer requirements. They also give clients with pre-engineered lenses to select from. An inspection report is supplied with each shipment to clients. Products they develop get into microscopes utilized by scientists and OEMs, telecentric lenses used to correct for optical parallax error, among different products.
Focus on Quality
The company follows ISO: 9001 standards (registered in 2008) and employs high-technology software to generate their lenses including Thin Film Calc, CODE V, Solid Works and Zemax.
The optical design approach starts with the lens design and flows to the production of the elements, coating and spectral testing. Single elements accuracy testing, subassembly of the optical lens, and sub-assembly testing is also performed. In this process their also mechanical design, mechanical processing, parts mapping and outer surface processing. After manufacturing, the lenses are tested for the next: chromatic aberration, PV value, transmission curve, wave-front error, surface quality, MTF/PTF/value, EFL/BFL/FFL and centration.
