Misha May Foundation holding Moment for Mutts event at the Golden Hotel

The Misha May Foundation, an organization that helps challenging to place dogs inside the Lakewood area, is having a special event on Saturday, November 12. Called Moment for Mutts, it can be more than just a fundraiser to the organization. It is a chance to recognize some kind of special mutts that are not only graduates in the organization, but examples to folks everywhere that most dogs deserve a possibility.
'These three confident, kind and wise males helped the majority Misha May's rescued dogs between 2005 and 2011. It's a new era for Misha May without these three gentlemen,' says Lorraine May, Executive Director, Founder and Head Trainer of Misha May. 'Buddy and Brinx were adopted together come july 1st by a former Board member who had taken Buddy to Misha May training classes when he first arrived. She were required to wait until there were space in her own home and couldn't think that Buddy was still being available. Zeb passed away with the age of 11 on February 7, 2010."
Buddy ' This one-year-old shepherd mix had passed through three homes and was slated for euthanasia in a shelter when he found Misha May to work on his depression. This was your dog who cleared six-foot fences and lashed out at cats. At 100 pounds, he was regarded as intimidating, but he a love for people as well as other dogs that Misha May could not give up on. May said he was a little nervous around small puppies initially, but while he learned and grew, his duty ended up being accompany the rescued litters of puppies when they had to head outdoors late at night.
Brinx ' This yellow Lab mix arrived at Misha May with the same time they received 80 rescue animals from Hurricane Katrina. May said Brinx had his sweet disposition crushed from harsh training during his youth anf the husband feared all humans by the ages of one year. Soon after he reached Misha May, he became known as Uncle Brinx while he could read and understand other dogs so well. He gave them space once they needed it along with other dogs understood him.
Zeb ' He would have been a golden retriever that May found like a stray. She said she found him wondering the mountains fending for himself. May said at first she thought he was telling her he needed helped getting home, but his owners no longer wanted him. He soon had a home with May where his trust, respect and love for humans helped May give other rescued dogs another chance.
Moment for Mutts will be held at the Grand Ballroom at The Golden Hotel from 10 a.m. to a few p.m. on November 12. The event will include a cash bar, a slideshow of Misha May testimonials, a live auction with Golightly @ Schwab Auctions, your backyard salad and soup buffet and a Grand Prize Basket drawing. Tickets to the Grand Prize Basket are $5 first ticket; $10 for three; and $20 for ten; and $50 for 100 tickets. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE PRSENT TO WIN! Tickets to visit the event are $35 through September 30, then $40 through November 8. Tickets in the door are $45. Tickets can be bought online at MishaMayFoundation.org. Misha May remains looking for sponsors and vendors for this event. Vendors will get an eight-foot table to trade, inform, or give a service. The Misha May Foundation believes that every individual dog, in spite of breed or mix, age or issue, or period of time needed, deserves the opportunity find a forever home.
